The Alice server is now running a redundant dns service connecting to our DNS server in Seattle USA
What does all this mean?
This new service now provides a redundant copy of all clients sites DNS in both Brisbane and Seattle, which will improve performance of dns lookups and will provide a layer of redundancy in the case of any data centre or server issues in Brisbane
For Hosting Clients:
No changes are required and you wont notice anything different
For Resellers:
Resellers will need to change the IP associated with their NS2 nameserver IP on their hosting accounts to the new IP
Resellers need to change the registry where their master domain name is registered and change the IP registered to the ns2 host nameserver to 208.43.179.165
PLEASE NOTE: This change needs to be done as soon as possible to prevent any potential dns lookup issues
Please note this is different to delegating your domain to a nameserver or IP, and if your not sure what to do please open a ticket at the helpdesk and we will be happy to assist
